An article was published today in California Healthline called Women Fear Drug They Used To Halt Puberty Led To Health Problems. It highlights the many problems experienced by women who took Lupron to delay puberty.
“More than 10,000 adverse event reports filed with the FDA reflect the experiences of women who’ve taken Lupron. The reports describe everything from brittle bones to faulty joints.”
Among the listed complaints were:
- pain at the injection site
- mood swings
- thinning of the bones while still young
- osteoporosis while still young
- chronic pain
- depression, anxiety, suicidal urges
- blood disorder
- joint problems
- blurred vision
- joint pain
Bone problems seem to be common. The article reports women in their 20s needing hip replacement and having a cracked spine. One woman was quoted as saying she felt she had been “experimented on” and would hate for her own child to be put on Lupron.
Lupron is being treated as a safe way to delay puberty in kids who are gender nonconforming while they decide if they want to have sex reassignment. While more research is needed on the side effects of pediatric use of Lupron, it’s clear that it is not always safe and sometimes is quite dangerous.
Those of us who are skeptical about the claim that some kids are born inherently needing to take Lupron in order to delay their normal human development are treated as if we are bigoted and wishing people to suffer. But the truth is, the drugs are making them suffer.
Studies show that most kids with gender dysphoria will desist by the time they reach adulthood and many will become lesbian or gay. It’s not acceptable to give any children drugs that will cause them physical harm, especially when the only “problem” being cured is that they are gender nonconforming. (Being gender nonconforming is not a problem and doesn’t require any treatment.) But what makes this even worse is that it is often same-sex attracted young people who are being diagnosed as needing harmful drug treatments to make them appear as gender conforming members of the opposite sex, a practice that is eerily reminiscent of earlier methods of gay conversion therapy done by the medical and psychiatrist profession.
It’s outrageous that those of us who want to just let kids be kids and let homosexuals be homosexuals without trying to “cure” anyone of what isn’t even a problem, are considered hateful bigots. It should be obvious that the hateful people are the ones who give children dangerous medications to make them conform to gender norms.
